Hohenwald is proud of its Swiss heritage, and as you stroll the downtown area you'll notice multiple sites of interest within a few blocks of Meriwether's Retreat. The Lewis County Museum of Natural History details the earliest days of Hohenwald and Lewis County history, and showcases the Maddox Collection of exotic animal mounts.

Downtown Hohenwald offers a few unique specialty shops where you can find the perfect souvenir of your time here, or the perfect gift for someone special.

Downtown Dining
Meriwether's Retreat is within walking distance of a variety of dining options. Whether it's a burger and crazy shake at Hank's Diner, or a fine steak at The Junkyard Dog, or some enchilada's at Rio Colorado, you'll find almost anything with a 1-2 block walk.
