Louis' Suite

Louis’s Suite: $125 a night, Double Occupancy

A few years ago, I was told the story of this suite’s namesake by local historian, DeAnna Darden Carroll.

Parisian, Louis LeMan LaMaison, once lived one block down the street when Hohenwald was being formed.  Louis made his Will out to his love, then shortly after, was found dead at the bottom of a well nearby.

Reportedly, his lady-friend had another love on the side.  At any rate, it’s a great story, and you can still see Louis’s headstone in the old part of the Swiss Cemetery.

I love Louis’s Room because it’s cozy and quaint, just like our little town.  Louis’s Suite is on the first floor, and right off the front porch where you have full use of the rocking chairs.  Come get a feel of the past with the black and white photographs of former immigrants who built this town.  Enjoy some of Baker Deb’s delicious homemade fare, and relax, friends.  It’s what we do best at Meriwether’s Retreat.

Please note: Our facility strives to maintain a high level of cleanliness for our clientele. As such, our suites are available to adult clients only. We do not allow children, pets, and we are a smoke-free facility.
